We strive to achieve a healthy American Staffordshire Terrier that will give you many years of joy. We only use Canine Cardiologists when certifying in OFA for Cardiac (hearts) and not a Practioner or Specialist. We encourage you to checkout our dogs in the OFA Database.
Some things to consider when buying an American Staffordshire Terrier.

Cerebellar Ataxia (Ataxia) leads to nervous system degeneration. The first symptoms appear between 3 and 5 years : "Wobbly" gait, tremors, incoordination, loss of balance. At the final stages, the dog is unable to move and euthanasia is generally practiced.
It is important that whoever you get your Amstaff from that they are tested or from first generation parents that are either clear or carrier. If the American Staffordshire Terrier is bought for breeding it is important that you test the other Amstaff for this also. You never want to breed Carrier to Carrier or any Affected. Clear to Clear or Clear to Carrier is accepted.
